N.Y. Mexicans More Likley To Keep Job.

Mexican New Yorkers Are Steady Force in Workplace (New York Times). Tells how Mexican New Yorkers Have a higher percentage of keeping their jobs than any other immagrant group. Why is this; the information given said that more immagrants from mexico have come illigelay so they don't have any papers;  scared that they'll get deported they do not give out thier real last names and bribe the owners that they'll do not have to be payed minimum wage; For that reason the owners look for immagrants like this to work for them. The owners also like these kind of workers because "They are very, very humble. They'er dedicated, wheather they work half a day or a day and a half." stated a bussiness manager. Because most of them are illigaly here they are less likely to report abuses to the authorities in frear of deportion. About 76 percent of of all Mexicans between the ages of 16 and 65 are either looking or have a job; about 96 percent have jobs. Nation wide that figure is 94 percent. About three in every five Mexican immagrants have jobs."Employers love them because they want to work as many hours as they can," said Robert C. Smith, a professor at the Baruch Collage and leading expert on the Mexican diaspora in New York. "Mexicans work in order to survive." Stated 35 year old mexican Alex. Agustin left his wife and children in Mexico to work in the U.S.A he spent the first years in construction then the down turn in the housing projects foced him to finding a job this year at a supermarket in Bensonhurst; he now works 12 hours a day and 7 days a week and is paid $4 a day $3 less tan minimum wage he sends whatever he can back to Mexico. why dose this matter to us? Well if we think back to our history we find that the same things are happening to our immigrant workers than back then and we all know how that can inrage a culture and cause a major diffrence. So please think about the people and what they do for a living before judging them
